Think New Orleans is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help the City of New Orleans use participatory media to share inforfmation, create knowledge and build consenus. The contemporary Internet has become a publishing platform with low barriers to entry. It has become easier for people to create their own web pages, frequently update their own web pages, contribute to community web pages, and to share photographs, audio and video. This constant publishing creates both a dialog and a record of civic activity.
Think New Orleans teaches people how to use this information to organize across the traditional socio-economic, geographic, and cultural boundaries.

Think New Orleans Internet Workshops are held weekly at the New Orleans Housing Resources Center. They cover a variety of topics, including web publishing with a content management system in our Web Publishing series, how to manage email through our Inbox Zero, course and how to contribute to the New Orleans Wiki.
Attendees of the Web Publishing Workshop will learn how to maintain their own web site for their nonprofit for neighborhood organization.

The Audio Town Hall Coordinator will select an issue central to New Orleans’ recovery and schedule short conference call-style interviews with experts, political leaders, and community activists who work on different angles of the issue. He or she will create audio recordings of these interviews and post them on the Think New Orleans website.
