Final Update: Got this update from Morwen in November:
"We finally started the SBA stream and the place is now remediated and gutted. Also cleared the yard .
The gutters took 4 days... (I know, I was there for it all.) You folks did a wonderful thing for us weeks ago. Finishing the entire task on that place would have been way too much. (Things in that house are not what they seemed... more than a few remodelings in it's past.) What you folks did was streamline the way and that Betty and I both appreciate so very much. We are moving forward now and can get the raising and the restoration going."
Thanks to everybody who came out or contributed. Any leftover funds will be donated to the Arabi Wrecking Krewe.

The gutting scheduled for this Sunday, October 8, has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date.
Ray says: I would like to mobilize the volunteer spirit of the Rising Tide to help out one of our own. Morwen Madrigal, a.k.a Gentilly Girl, has found that she can't gut her house by herself, and the waiting list to get help from places like ACORN is over four months long.
By coordinating through the ThinkNOLA Wiki and pulling a crew together, I think we could make a big dent in the job.
The Arabi Wrecking Krewe will be loaning us equipment. You should wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty, long pants, and sturdy shoes (work boots if you have them).
