[edit] Current Events
Hello, everyone. This is the New Orleans Wiki. It was used in the wake of Katrina to capture information that was streaming by in various dicussion forums.
Now, we're using it to compile articles about New Orleans, and the rebirth of New Orleans. It has always been a project that focused on New Orleans' communities.
There are some very active sections of the Wiki. Mid City is receiving a lot of development, and there are histories for many Neighborhoods.
You can get started by taking an item off of the To Do List.
How does one use the patrolling features?
[edit] Categories
As a community, we decide which categories are appropriate. We don't want to have conflicting categories or categories with different notions of singluar and plural.

A Community Guide will focus on gathering and forwarding. They make sure that messages get from one medium to the next. They make sure that people who know how to use e-mail, but don't know how to find blogs, still see the same information.
We have a huge cut and paste operation, because this is no time to learn new software.
