The New Orleans Housing Resource Center (NOHRC) is a nonprofit corporation whose mission is to assist
- residents of the City of New Orleans to rebuild or renovate homes damaged by Hurricane Katrina or
- those who wish to purchase a home.
The purpose of the center is to create a one-stop repository of information that can be accessed remotely or in person at the center, including, among other topics, information on city/state/federal planning and legislation, homeowner insurance, environmental hazards, construction financing and subsidies, and the construction process including permitting, selecting contractors and architects, healthy, environmentally sound, and energy efficient building, historic preservation, and inspections. The center also has information on purchasing a home for first-time homeowners and others.

The New Orleans Housing Resources Center can answer your questions about rebuilding or rennovating your home if it has been damaged by Hurrican Katrina. You can call and ask questions about resource available for reconstruction.
The New Orleans Housing Resources Center also povides information for home buyers and people who with to build new homes.

The New Orleans Housing Resources Center conducts workshops for home buyers, and for people who are recovering from Katrina. Workshops include question and answer sessions with the representatives of the Road Home Program.
