The Think New Orleans neighborhood organization survey will provide New Orleans with a comprehensive directory of neighborhood organizations. Citizens in town and those that are still evacuated will be able to find their neighborhood organization through this directory.

This questionnaire is the first phase in a multi-part survey.

  1. Comprehensive listing with contact information and boundaries.
  2. Needs survey, a survey of the specific challenges addressed by the neighborhood organization.
  3. Geographic survey. Creation of a boundary map, including an overlay of schools, parks, and city resources.

We will link directly to your web site and your discussion groups.

    • Why was the organization formed? Was it in response to a specific need for the neighborhood?
  • Volunteer opportunities.
    • Description of volunteer opportunity.
    • Full contact information, if different from organization contact information.
    • Location and time of volunteer opportunity.
    • Duration of volunteer opportunity, when will the volunteer program end?
    • Eligibility, does the volunteer have to be a certain age?
    • Requirements, does the volunteer need and licenses or have certain experience?
    • Prerequisites, does the volunteer need to attend training or have participated in previous volunteer efforts?
    • Materials, does the volunteer bring books, supplies or tools?

  • Create a template using Northwest Carrollton and Central Carrollton.
  • Send out round one and gather information for five neighborhoods.
