Yes. You are invited to the third New Orleans Geek Dinner on Saturday, March 31, 2007. If you have found this page, you are geek enough. You have access to a computer in post-Katrina New Orleans. That's hard core!

[edit] The Dinner

What qualifies for geek in The Crescent City? Computer programmers, bloggers, VCR programmers, ham radio operators, those that can know where to locate the "any" key, or anyone who has a functional "electronic" mail address (the thing with the swirly 'a').

In case of apocalypse, come prepared for analog Geekery as well. A variety of strange and geekish card games are available, as is good old-fashioned conversation and non-digital interaction.

The original New Orleans Geek Dinner postings can tell you more about this event, and you can read about it, and ask questions, leave comments at the Think New Orleans weblog.

Gear up for Geek Dinner III! As dangerblond says, "We’ve had two Geek Dinners before and they’ve been great fun and great food. The first one was on Esplanade in the Quarter, and the second was at Loki’s post-apocalyptic gutted first floor on Claiborne. Now it’s time to push the envelope and head to the not-quite-burbs - Faux Metairie, as my neighbor calls it. Bloggers and blog readers are invited. If you are geek enough to read this paragraph, you are geek enough to come. If you don’t want to cook, we can suggest something for you to bring. This time we have special guests, Scout Prime and a group of New Orleans fans from First Draft. They are going to be here gutting houses and making themselves useful, so we’re going to throw on a feed for them."
