my mother pass away last November made 2yrs my question is simply. we received some doucment in the mail a few months ago stating that my mother home will be receiving the different of what she original received. so we a family call the program to ask question and was told to send in the open sucession paper in so we did and wait and wait with no response from the program so we call only to be told that we want be receiveing the money because the money does not follow the heir’s to the house, but the hosue is still there and that what the money is for. This the smae house that we cannot sell for the next three years can someone please help me with this question

I am trying to see when I will be getting my elevation grant. I did notice a few new documents has been added to my application when I check it online. Does any one know what this is 06HH030214_ElevationIncentiveForm_Review Project.pdf. This was added on 11/04/08.

NEW ORLEANS — Federal officials said on Sunday that Louisiana is moving too slow to distribute elevation grants to hurricane-affected homeowners and they say the pace of the distributions could end up costing the state millions.

The funding, which was awarded after Hurricane Katrina, will allow some homeowners to raise the elevation of their homes.

About $1 billion in Road Home elevation grants finally started flowing to homeowners in the last two weeks. But the state hasn’t begun to tap the money from another elevation program, which is $750 million.

well, i’m happy for you out there,but how do you check your on file’status’,or know how far they are on your flies? we close in march,but nothing about our elevation grants,not one phone call are letters from anybody.they let us sign our elevation papers at closing,but a that time they weren’t giving it out yet. where’s our grant money going? good luck too all..

To whom it may concern
I recently purchased two 50’ lots on Irish Bayou at 2761 Ridgeway Blvd. 70129 (US 11). I intend to build a house on the site and live there. I did assume a covenant with Road Home from the former owner. I am in the process of building a bulkhead and filling the lots. What I want to know is: Officially, what is the height of elevation above normal tide do I have to build? And is there any Road Home funds to help pay for the much increased elevation? i owned 3 properties,all 3 damaged by Katrina
I still have not received 1 dime from the GOV

i had renovated and rented my rental properties,
and there is a stipulation that the rentals had to be VACANT for me to even apply.

Go figure.
I had the good sense to fix my property with my own $
and now am being punished for it ?
Not to mention, i had even heard on TV (WDSU i think) that
i should go aahead and renovate, and NOT to wait for the program.

I am still in the pre-closing process. I check my status daily and its always the same-INACTIVE. Any problems with title verification or anything of that sort have been resolved. When I ask what the problem is or what I can do to help things along all I am told is a supervisor has to change my status and until that is done I just have to wait like everyone else. Any clue as to how long this process may take or what if anything can be done.

Yes Tynia. When my application went to adjustment pending I notice that I had post closing documents and final acknowledgement forms attached. The bad news is I have been in adjustment pending going on two months. The good news is I am told that I am waiting for the title company to call me. All things said Tynia, things are finally looking good for you. You still need to call them periodically to make sure that there is nothing you need to do on your part. They will not call or write you. Good Luck!

I checked my status today and it says “Adjustment Pending.” I also have post closing documents attached to my file now and a final acknowledgment form. Does that mean I’m getting closer to receiving my elevation grant?

Just got off the phone with resolutions and they did not deduct enough insurance in 07 so now they are taking back what we got from our elevation grant because some stupid person did not input the numbers right and now we have to pay for it we cant elevate our home because of the screw ups off other people they didnt put our insuance funds in correctly after being in resoltions for 6 months tell me this is not possible .

Still yet to hear anything i have left messages for 2 people in resolutions no return phone call asked to speak to supervisor nothing i am getting nobody at resolutions to answer my questions anybody know any more info help it is going on 2 1/2 weeks of phone calls no response

I guess I will have to continue to bug them to. A document was attached to my file labeled “SNA Tynia” under Advisor Documents. I have no idea what that means and the road home rep didn’t even have it on her screen.

Does anyone else have something posted under Advisor Documents? I am so sick of this!!!

Thanks CoCo. Everytime I call I am given a different answer. Last week I was told that I was waiting on the paper work to go through quality control (QC) which is the last stage. Then the title company will call. Yesterday I was told my file was waiting for the elevation department to process it, even though I was given the exact amount over three times by three different people. I will continue to bug RH. Thanks again.

Dee, I’m afraid the person that told you that is wrong, again!

The RH might be processing applications from 2006, but they are also processing, completing and paying elevation grants on applications from 2007. I know, because I filed in 2007, closed in 2007 and completed my elevation closing paperwork last week. I am waiting on payment any day now.

I had no appeal issues and bugged them weekly.

Tynia, I called road home today to find out why I was still in adjustment pending. I was told that they were still processing the elevation applications from 2006. Shawn said they had to go back and process the applications from the first round of folks who qualify but did not receive the funds due to the funds not being available. So this mean that it will take a while for those of us who filed this year. According to Shawn, if you had filed an appeal it may take even longer due to the fact that you can only have two closings. Now, this is what I was told today. If I call tomorrow I am 99.9% sure that I will get another answer.
I know a lady who was not getting a grant, and she appealed and was given the grant money and elevation money in a year. You need to keep checking in case they need some paper work, believe me you will not know unless you check because they do not call or send letters. Keep praying!!
