Recovery School District Questions
The Recovery School District is an important subject. One that does not get the coverage that you’d expect to find on the web.
Which is why I get a lot of incoming traffic from Google that is searching on the keywords “Recovery School District”. There is not much at Think New Orleans on the subject. Let’s change that.
Please use this forum to discuss the Recovery School District. If we discuss the topic here, we’ll end up creating a forum like the Road Home Questions forum, which is the most popular page at Think New Orleans.
This post will change to become a directory to posts on the Recovery School District at Think New Orleans. For now you can read the Louisiana Recovery School District page in the New Orleans Wiki, you can read Matt McBride’s article So much for the RSD Master Plan, and my most recent post Have You Heard the Latest Joke In Civic Paricipation? Planning the Future of School Facilities as They Are Demolished.

Quid Pro Quo
If got my hands on some of Parson’s engineering reports, what would I do with them?
Would you know of anyone in the profession that would be willing to look at the engineering reports for Douglas or Lockett and tell us what they think? I’d publish this here, but I’ve also been offered guest blogging spots on much bigger blogs. If it’s a good story, we could get it put a little further forward.

I think the engineering reports are drive by thumbnails…

I’d like to run through the public records request process myself and hand the results off to a structural engineer. Have them look at the reports and ask some questions.
We can get those questions answered. If it means walking through the school with a video camera and posting the video for the structural engineer to review.

Sarah has outlined it here.

Hello Alan,
Karen and Sarah know a very good engineer. One that can read any of those reports. An engineer that knows that some of these corporations are in dire need of some simple blunt questions. An engineer that is not a coward nor one on the corporate merry-go-round of these big guys. Email Karen and we may all see what the emperor is really wearing.
