Think New Orleans

Neighborhood Mapping Project

November 8th, 2006

Think New Orleans has begun a neighborhood mapping project. Yet more maps. This time however, we’re using the web and you’ll be able to draw your own maps, if you like.

I’ve started this work at the “Civic Intelligence” website. So far, I’ve been able to recreate boundary maps for the following neighborhood organizations.

The Faubourg-Marigny does not go directly to the river, rather it follows Peters St. This is owing to the limitations of the mapping software, soon to be remedied.

We’ll be creating these maps with your feedback on boundaries. The end result will be an interactive map. You can add or remove the different boudaries and point sets.
