I am a past resident of New Orleans. I was employed there as a Probation/Parole Officer for the La. Dept. of Corrections. The proposed demolition is past due. It should have been done before this disaster. It is deplorable what these people have to live in. Now that being said, let me say this. These places are crime infested also, not saying that everyone that lives there is a criminal; but crime in these PROJECTS as they are known was outrageous. Police Officers as well as Correctional Probation Officers did not like to go into these areas. I put my life on the line by going into these project areas. I soon learned not to go alone, but to take another Officer with me. I think New Orleans, and the state of Louisiana can do a lot better. Let us show the rest of the country. Please Ms. Polosi, let them be demonlished. By the way I am a Democrat living in Louisiana.
