A Podcast! With K.C. King!, you can download the Mp3 file or listen in your browser with the do-hickey above.

Note: What follows is a quick email K.C. King sent after the board meeting. Listen to the Podcast to learn more about last Tuesday’s LRA Board Meeting (April 10th, 2007).

Short version: Expectation exceeded!!

Bill of “principles” will be drafted by LRA staff. There was some concern over some of the ones the Parishes added that connoted spending money. LRA board is inclined to use Bill of Principles to measure program success and identify problems in delivering results. It appears that the Board look favorably on connecting the Bill of Principles to the in-flight review.

Sean Riley briefed the board on the in-flight review before Alan could get a word in. Senator Bajoie said that the costs should come out of ICF and ICF might even be given a task to do it?

Walter briefed his expanded Housing task force approach to the Citizen’s Oversight Board. There was a concensus that he could do this himself. Norm Francis said if he wanted any new appointments, he would support it. Walter is awaiting suggested names.

There were a number of expressions of support from a number of Board members. We were able to field a few concerns.

We even made them late for lunch without desertions or grumbling – a first.

The 4 person, (Alan, Deborah, Ricardo and your humble recorder) briefing team kept it lean and handled the last minute changes, the Board’s exuberant questioning and my inept choreography with exquisite agility.

Senator Bajoie invited CHAT to become engaged in the upcoming legislative session. Our next big challenge – a CHAT legislative agenda anyone?
