I attended kindergarten at the old Wilson school on General Pershing years ago. My memories of it are so vivid that I have always wanted to revisit that building some day and see my old classroom. Was that building damaged beyond repair in Katrina? I note the new address for Wilson Charter School. I live in Oklahoma now and don’t get to N.O. often, but was wondering. Thank you for your help.

I am interested in a position as a Para-professional. I have worked for the past five years as a Special Education Assistant (LLD) at Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School in New Jersey. I am now living in New Orleans and I am available for immediate employment. My current resume is posted on both the Recovery School District and Louisiana Public School web site. Please advise if any positions are available. Thank you.

Mary anne- The old Wilson was damaged severely. However, thanks to the Broadmoor Improvement Assn and the Broadmoor Charter School Board’s hard work, Wilson will be one of only 5 schools rebuilt for the 09-10 school year. The original structure is on the historic register so it will be rehabbed, but the later additions were demolished to make room for a new structure. You can read more about it in these links:
