Web Publishing Workshop
Think New Orleans will be hosting a web publishing workshop this coming Thursday. The meeting location is to be determined, but it will be central.
The Web Publishing Workshop will introduce community organizers to web publishing using WordPress, a software program that makes publishing a web site as simple as writing an email.
Update: The Web Publishing Workshop will be held at 1832 Felicity St, New Orleans, LA which is between St Charles Ave and Oretha Castle Hailey. The workshop will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 25th, 2006.
I want to thank Paul Baricos from the New Orleans Housing Resource Center for providing us with the facilities to host the web publishing workshop.
Update: I’ve now created a lesson plan for the Web Publishing Workshop. We’re estimating that the workshop will last two hours, it will run from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
We request that participants have basic computer skills. A participant should be able to send and recieve email, navigate the web, and fill out web forms.
All participants will recieve a WordPress based web site for their community.
